We live in a two-bedroom apartment in Manhattan which has one bathroom.

PicasaWeb has this embeddable slideshow feature which I thought I'd try. These photos were taken in the summer, at the Popover Cafe, just before Ruth departed for Verona, Italy for a month.
I recently joined the UTATA group in flickr, which calls itself a salon for photographers, writers, and other people willing to participate politely. As a result of my participation in a discussion thread within that group another member, teaseress, a far better photographer than I am, undertook to find a photo of mine worthy of inclusion in the UTATA Viewer's Choice Project.
This was a pretty tall order. In the two years I've been a member of flickr I have used it primarily as a warehouse rather than as a gallery. Eveything short of accidental photos of my thumb got uploaded. I stated my flickr philosophy in my profile.
Despite all of this teaseress managed to find a picture she felt worthy of note and which, now that I look at it again, seems pretty good to me. Every once in a while, it seems, I can transcend the quotidian.
