PicasaWeb has this embeddable slideshow feature which I thought I'd try.  These photos were taken in the summer, at the Popover Cafe, just before Ruth departed for Verona, Italy for a month.

My son is on the road from Oberlin College, even as I write. We'll head down to SoHo at about 8 or 8:30 to pick him up at his dropoff point and bring him home.

He'll be staying with us until January 2nd. The last month or so has been quite stressful so he'll mostly want to lie low, eat food he finds hard to get in Ohio, see a few friends and take in a play or two. I imagine that next semester he will declare his dual major in Theater Arts and African-American Studies.

Oberlin has a Winter Term, which lasts the month of January. He will spend it on campus rehearsing his role in one play -- a Theater Dept. production of a play called (believe it or not) "Omnium Gatherum" -- and directing another play ( a short student production, yet to be determined).

We will be very glad to see him and to catch up.
